A Sundance-premiering documentary exploring one of the greatest overlooked challenges of deep space travel, not the physics, but the psychology. As NASA prepares to send astronauts to Mars for the first time, crew members will face up to three years cut off from Earth, unable to communicate with loved ones in real time. The film follows NASA psychologist Dr. Al Holland and astronauts including Kayla Barron, Matthias Maurer, and former ISS crew member Cady Coleman as they grapple with the profound human cost of isolation and what it truly means to say goodbye.
